Lineart by me. Joshua Perez :icondyemooch: provided a much-needed assist on the colors by taking care of the rendering duties (I was in a deadline crunch).

A little more art from my new monthly feature "Commission: Impossible" for CHAMPION! Magazine : [link]
This was a single page of art to show how a SHERLOCK comic "could" work. Though I've removed all the dialogue balloons (you wanna read 'em, buy the mag), I suspect Holmes afficionados will know which Conan Doyle story I've adapted and the modern spin I've put on it. ;)

I won't typically be showing this much of my CHAMPION! work in coming months, b/c I really do want you guys to buy the mag (did I mention its only 99 cents an issue?). It's available for your iPad and can be downloaded from the iTunes app store. Find out more about it here: [link]

UPDATE: Due to the sad demise of CHAMPION, I can now share this with the original word balloons. Enjoy. :)

Love it, such an interesting and successful approach to a Sherlock comic. Well done :)

This is brilliant! I especially like how one of the victims is wearing a "The Angels Have The Phonebox" T-shirt :D

THAT is genius. One of my favourites ( due to the granda production) cant wait to see how this turns out.

Sorry to hear that the magazine/download died. But, as always, great stuff. The classic Red Headed League story is one of my favorites.

Yeah, it was very sad it died a (quite untimely) death. Not through lack of profitability, I might add- just some dumb behind-the-scenes stuff. A real shame, b/c it was a quality product that was kinda like a smarter, more relevant version of WIZARD (and with way more content per dollar). It was also the first gig where I ever got paid to write, so i'll always be grateful to them for that.

And yeah, I had a lot of fun updating Red-Headed League. It'd be fun to write the rest of this story one day (I seriously doubt it'll ever happen, but ya never know...).

Mhm, you've really got the feel of the show here. I can really see this being the adaption of this story for a modern setting. Also, what font did you use for the deductions?

Wow, this comic really works, even without the speech bubbles! By the way, nice reference with the girl's shirt.
Don't blink, Sherlock!
