This is a piece for Michael Bramley's comic SHERBET, a wacky reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes mythos mashed up with lesbians, steampunkery, and monsters (sounds fun, right?). Find out more about it here: [link]
Michael suggested having her go up against some kind of classic monster. I eventually settled on something that certainly could be interpreted as a form of John Carpenter's alien (designed by the great Rob Bottin) from his remake of THE THING. It was fun to do something in black-and-white too. I usually rely on color to sort out the mess of detail I produce, so it was a nice challenge.
