Iris, Panda, and 105

This is my contribution to Cody Schell's "105 Artists" project to promote the release of Obverse Books' MS. WILDTHYME AND FRIENDS INVESTIGATE [link] , featuring the Doctor's sometime-associate, Iris Wildthyme.

Here we have a scene from Iris' lost adventure "The Mind Jobber". After an accident involving a beryllium clock and Babycham causes her bus to explode, Iris and Panda find themselves in a pink void. Stranded with them are Iris' sometime-boyfriend, Mexican wrestler/ adventurer Señor 105 and his best friend Sheila (a sentient isotope of Helium that lives in a party balloon). They quickly find themselves surrounded by various versions of what appears to be the robot from the movie ROBOT VS. THE AZTEC MUMMY. 105 realizes they must be in the dreaded Land of Friction (a seedy sub-dimension of the more respectable Land of Fiction), where professional wrestling is actually real. They're eventually lured to a Mayan pyramid and confronted by the Land's "Master", the evil wizard Kayfabe (who turns out to be a rubbish disguise of psychic Persian wrestler Jabroni, one of 105's nemeses). Hijinks ensue.

Unforunately, the only tape of this adventure was wiped from BBC archives in 1976, while the only copy of the script was joyously burned by a cackling Phillip Hinchcliffe (with the last ashes smoked in Robert Holmes' pipe). Probably for the best, really.
