I love the dress, I love the actress, I love her acting, I love the episode, and I love this full body shot of Idris!!!! It's just wonderful!! Good on ya, mate, good on ya!
Beautiful and the dress is spot-on! I'm particularly fond of the full TARDIS chart, which is now my desktop wallpaper (which is a high compliment, I hope, because it's the first time in months that I've found an image that I loved enough to do that with, and I have been reeeeally searching).
Found you through i09's post on the "10 Different Shows That Doctor Who Has Been" (they have some of your art, such as the TARDIS chart, in the article - hopefully with your permission?), loved your art the minute I saw it. <3
Thank you- I'm very flattered. IO9 actually never contacted me, but as they linked to my page here, I don't mind (at least when it comes to fan art- original works would be a different story).
There was a Series 6 episode earlier this year, called "The Doctor's Wife", where the episode's villain ripped the soul of the TARDIS out, for... I forget exactly, Timey-Wimey reasons, something to do with how the entity feeds off of TARDISes, after luring in the Time Lords who pilot them. Anyway, it temporarily grounded the police box we know and love, and shoved the Doctor's TARDIS's internal consciousness (because the TARDIS is oh, oh so alive) into a... disposable body, named Idris. Brilliantly played by an actress whose name I really should know, because she was utterly amazing, in what may well have been a borderline impossible role.
Led to one of the most entertaining episodes of the Series, really. Emotional, moving, and also funny as hell (for instance, the TARDIS decides her name must be "Sexy", because that's what the Doctor always calls her, to which he responds, "Only when we're alone!"). You'd like it, I suspect. It's one of the fan favorites from Series 6, and one of my own favorites, for good reason.
