Now this scene could be determined in multiple ways, so let's start off with my personal favorite:
Fing Fang Foom had just woke up, soon realizing he had misplaced his pants. He goes off to look for them, and ask everyone for directions. Since they're too small for him to hear, he picks up a few to get close to his ear. Word gets out about Tripple F's "Indecent Exposure", along with an alleged mistaken identity, Jet Jaguar goes off to the scene, while Godzilla arrives just to knock some collective teeth out.
For visual ref- yeah, absolutely. Ditto my old 8" Bandai Jet Jaguar figure. Those sorts of things are invaluable for catching all the tiny details ya might not be able to pick up from stills and screengrabs. I even kept the pose on Godzilla pretty similar since it was fairly close to what I wanted (though I did change it up a bit).
Of course, Godzilla WAS a Marvel character for a while (late 70s, if I remember right). Tangled with the Fantastic Four and Spidey... and I THINK the Champions of Los Angeles (might have that wrong). SHIELD (led by Dum-Dum Dugan) were charged with bringing him down. And then in the 80s, the Doctor was effectively made a "616" Marvel character thanks to an appearance in DEATH'S HEAD (the TARDIS even landed on the Baxter building). So not only are G-Force and Atlas part of the same continuity- so is UNIT!
Ohhhhh, awesome! Didn't know that at all! Maybe IDW and Marvel might decide to have a revisit and have a 'Avengers vs Godzilla' Miniseries for a crossover, since the success of the former and the last the latter will be getting a new film in the coming years. And then reprint the classic stuff in the back of the TPB/GN.
I did hear I think about the Doctor meeting a Marvel UK character (so Death Head) so that's pretty cool the idea that he exists in the Marvel universe, sort of. I know Captain Britain has a character who's a tribute to the Brigadier. Lately I've thought about trying to write a series of one-shot stories with a shared Marvel/Whoniverse where the various Doctors and Companions encounter different Marvel Heroes and teams - a more expansive idea than my original Who/Spidey one.
Yep, Big G tangled with the LA Champions-I think their roster at the time included Iceman, Black Widow, Falcon & Hercules (who downed a Helicarrier trying to brain Goji with a chunk of the GGB). Spidey, for his part, had the good sense to miss most of Godzilla's series-finale fracas with the FF & Avengers.
Oh, right, the pic: glorious carpal tunnel-inducing rendition of these monstrosities & the general backdrop alike. DAM-Goji is frighteningly spot-on (though props for giving him some much-needed lip reduction); you even recalled JJ's wacky in-flight head-aerials; and Triple F here lives up to the first third of his name (that distinguished uber-stache must've been fun to work out). Here's hoping Foom's evident MMA conditioning draws this slobberknocker out long enough for, say, Yongary & the Beta-Beast to arrive & start up a real circus.
